Donatella Lalitha Riback lives in New York, USA, and is an empowered Pillai Center Teacher who helps her students and clients attract wealth, happiness, prosperity, and well-being through Vedic astrology and Ayurveda. She is also a spiritual and life coach.
Lalitha is a professionally licensed Vedic astrologer, having graduated from the American Academy of Vedic Art and Science from both Level I and Level II. She holds an advanced certification in Vedic astrology and has been a certified yoga teacher since 2004.
She has been completely dedicated to Vedic astrology since 2010, and has been studying with great masters such as Dr. KS Charak, Vinay Aditya, and AB Shukla. She has also learned Vedic astrology through the teachings of Dr. Pillai and Valli Wells, AstroVed senior astrologer and an ordained Swamini.
Lalitha is a regular contributor to The Astrological Magazine founded by the grandfather of the legendary Vedic astrologer Dr. B. V. Raman.
Earlier, Lalitha studied at the University of Foreign Languages and Literature in Bergamo, Italy, majored in English and French and, later worked as a freelance journalist. She then worked as an executive in cultural affairs for the Italian Consulate General in Chicago, USA. In 2003, she left her work as vice president and creative director for a Chicago public relations firm and became a full-time meditation and yoga teacher.
My Philosophy and Love for Celestial Archetypes
Since 1993, I’ve been immersed in my Vedic studies—Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedic astrology, Vedic Numerology. In 2003, I made a life-changing decision—I left my stressful work in public relations to become a full-time, certified meditation and yoga teacher. Soon after, I explored how to help my students heal through the Japanese method called Usui Reiki, and I was initiated in all four levels, becoming a reiki master.
Yet astrology has been tugging at my heart since my teens, when I became incredibly attracted by mythology and philosophy—especially metaphysics. I also felt that there must be a way to understand time and know the future. Occasionally I followed Western astrology. Later I studied psychology and I felt that Carl Jung’s discoveries were a great addition to my humanistic studies.
The Vedic concepts of past life and karma were missing in my life, because of my Roman Catholic education and background. I’ve now reconciled these two wisdom traditions, the Hindu and Catholic.
Once I even came across a lecture by my teacher, Dr. Baskaran Pillai, who found a reference in the Bible in which it was said that Jesus was Elijah in a previous life. Dr. Pillai’s scholarly background includes a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a professor in the Department of Religious Studies. I credit him for my deeper knowledge of archetypes within Vedic astrology and the Vedas.
I hold an advanced degree in Vedic astrology, and I’m honored to contribute to The Astrological Magazine founded by the legendary Dr. B.V. Raman. I also work as a Vedic astrologer on the astrology panel at AstroVed.com.
I’ve lived in India for five years, and there I deepened my studies of Vedic arts and sciences—and more importantly, I visited amazingly beautiful and life-changing power vortexes within ancient temples and natural spots. There, the celestial archetypes are still alive and worshipped every day—while people still carry out their more mundane, modern tasks. I then decided that this was also my favorite way of living—a “200 percent” life, in the words of Dr. Pillai: 100 percent spiritual fulfillment and 100 percent material fulfillment.
I’ve learned from Dr. Pillai amazing meditative techniques of time management, productivity, manifestation and bliss. I’ve experienced incredible transformation and happiness from my deeper studies into the celestial, benevolent archetypes—Gods and Goddesses, and I know that they live both in the collective unconscious, as Carl Jung said, but also in the subtle planes of existence.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna spoke about Gods and Goddesses and the need for fire rituals to receive help from them. He also said that there is a reciprocal relationship between humans and Gods—thanks to the dynamic he called “parasparam.”
Parasparam implies that the Gods and Goddess can reach out to you and help you when you connect with them with love, respect and offerings of flowers, sweets, ripe fruits, dried fruits, special aromatic herbs and woods, ghee (or clarified butter), fire, and other auspicious items. We consider these fire rituals a technological device to call on benevolent archetypes, as long as we follow safe, traditional ways of non-harm or ahimsa and protective steps and mantras to keep away dark forces.
It is with great joy that I now teach coaching courses through my website—shreemlab.com—on how to tap into the field of infinite possibilities, and higher human potential through meditation and other tools of evolution and happiness.
I’ve also studied with other great spiritual masters and teachers, particularly with Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon. These extraordinary individuals have contributed to my training as a life and spiritual coach. However, Dr. Pillai is by far my most influential teacher.
One of Dr. Pillai’s students, Dr. Wayne Dyer, called him “one of the most enlightened beings on the planet.” And this is my experience, too.
My deepest wish for this course, my students and clients is that we can all become acquainted with the benevolent celestial beings who want to help us evolve and enter the Golden Age—which is the next stage of human evolution and the future of the earth plane.
